Oil circulation drives for special applications e.g. offshore and subsea technology
Specification: Ziehl-Abegg offers customised motor solutions such as the HYDT high voltage motors which operate submersed in oil in deap sea applications. These motors are designed for an extremely high power density at small overall dimensions and low weight. Only the rotor and stator are supplied as per customer's spec. to perfectly match the required envelope.
Attributes and special features: A separate small oil cooler or just the seawater surrounding the motor housing is enough to keep the motor temperature down. The oil filled motor housing is separated from the sea only by a spring loaded membrane. By doing so there is no pressure difference between the housing and the surrounding sea, requiring only a basic motor housing. Of course the motor is specialy designed to withstand the absolute pressure of the sea depths. In order to keep the umbilical cord diameter to the motor as small as possible all deep sea motors are operated with high voltage (up to 6,000 V).
Power up to 280 kW, voltage 3000 V, 2 and 4 pole, alternative powers and voltages upon request.
