Ziehl-Abegg presents axial fans with bionic FE2owlet aerodynamics and innovative ECblue drive technology
In bionics, interdisciplinary teams are achieving revolutionary improvements in established technical systems. At Ziehl-Abegg, this led to the unique FE2owlet axial fans. Owls served as the model – the animal kingdom’s bird that makes the least amount of noise in flight. Even seen only from the outside, the innovative FE2owlet design clearly shows that new paths have been forged but the real benefits are concealed in the flow characteristics. The aerodynamics are convincing not merely under laboratory conditions but more especially in customer applications and, above all, with critical flow characteristics. The impressive noise behaviour is not only reflected in the catalogue specifications on the sound power levels. The fan's balanced acoustic pattern leads to a positive impression of the sound behaviour, whereby only minimal tonal noise elements are present.
With immediate effect, the FE2owlet blades are combined with the pioneering ECblue technology, featuring electronically commutated direct-current external rotor motors.
The ECblue motor concept convinces with its peak efficiency, but this is not all. Just as in nature, simple solutions were assigned as priorities during the design of these products. Up until now, EC fans have been complex machines with which only experts in development departments have been able to work. And that's exactly where ECblue kicks in. With the help of the modular design, a choice can be made between the simple BASIC version and the individual PREMIUM version. This leads to simple handling during installation, commissioning and service. One good example of this is wireless fan configuration or monitoring. The times are gone when electricians had to manipulate the electronics via open terminal boxes using a notebook under an umbrella during wind and rain. The BASIC version includes the range of functions needed to ideally and simply handle over 90 % of the standard applications. With the optional PREMIUM modules, the range of functions can be expanded, for instance to include bespoke control and communications requirements.
