Plug fan installation example

I would like to gain informaiton about the installation/mounting details for plug fans. My company is currently using radial fans in small AHU'S (direct drive, 1~phase) In 4 pole motors there happens to be acceptable noise level but for 2 pole motors especially in the suction side there is a considerable noise which is not acceptable for ceiling installations. Plug fans are close to the suction side and blows the air to filter and then coils. So the noise level after the unit is acceptable, for the suction side we are considering to enlarge the suction section but I do not think this will be enough to overcome the noise problem, also when we add a sheet plate to the suction ring (inlet ring) we have measured that the noise level decreases ( we first thought it was because of the pressure loss of the plate but when we measeured the air flow rate we have found out the air flow rate has increased-maybe the plate increased the efficiency). I will be pleased if there happens to be any informaiton about this article
