Contemporary fans are used in many different ways, and often it is necessary to speed control the fans to suit requirements. Ziehl-Abegg in Künzelsau can match these requirements with its range of variously-equipped speed controllers.
The control technology product range extends from simple switches, to electronic voltage regulator units and on to frequency controllers. Individual units differ greatly in how they are equipped, starting with simple speed controllers and on to controllers with a variety of analogue and digital inputs and outputs that can be used for various functions depending upon the application in question.
If, at any time, the number of inputs and outputs available should no longer suffice, it is possible to insert an I/O card into the unit. Optionally this slot can also have an Ethernet- or LON-PCB plugged into it. The PCB used is automatically recognized by the unit, whereupon additional menus are then added to the menu structure.
Units equipped with the new display developed specifically for Ziehl-Abegg, can be activated in a very short time by using pre-programmed operating modes. For example, condenser pressure control configurations can be performed in full within 3 minutes, irrespective of whether the Fcontrol frequency inverter or the Ucontrol voltage regulator unit is used. In units that are equipped with a display, the customer can then choose from a total of seven languages. The majority of units are equipped as standard with an RS485 interface, over which the module bus protocol can be used to directly access configured parameters.
The development goal set for this unit model series was to create standard operating convenience and functions for the customers. This means that it is just as easy to navigate in the frequency converter menus as in the voltage regulator unit or EC-controller menus. All the customer has to do for an application is decide which type of speed control is preferred, irrespective of whether it is a Ucontrol voltage regulator unit, Fcontrol frequency controller or the Econtrol EC controller: All units are equipped with an identical functional scope and the same easy menu structure.
