Health & Safety Manager (m/f)


Description of role

  • Create, implement and maintain JSA‘s (job safety analysis)
  • Leads by example in regards to site safety
  • Ensures daily safety meetings are completed
  • Maintains and updates safety boards
  • Ensures site employees are up to date on safety training needs
  • Coordinate forklift training
  • Coordinates facility safety inspections
  • Scheduling, tracking and reporting on inspections
  • Ensures the facility is OSHA compliant
  • Creating and maintaining health and safety manuals
  • Implement periodic lock out tag-out program audits
  • Collect near miss, hazardous conditions and safety observations and creates report on this data
  • Ensure that site management follows through to ensure the situation is promptly addressed and corrective actions are developed, integrated and are sufficient to prevent future injury or illness
  • Leads thorough new hire safety walkthroughs
  • Maintenance of MSDS/SDS sheets
  • Coordinate fire extinguisher checks and training
  • Coordinate fire drills
  • Accident reporting including follow up and intermediary actions and compile report for HR
  • Coordinates monthly safety meetings
  • Creates and maintains reports on all health and safety activities
  • Prepares and updates required safety plans
  • Conducts ergonomic studies
  • Other duties as assigned

Job requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience as a Health & Safety Manager or Supervisor
  • OSHA certification
  • Proven knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Ability to maintain composure in challenging situations
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to lead and facilitate effective meetings
  • MS Office experience
