ErP Directive for fans and speed controls
The European Ecodesign Directive
The ErP Directive 2009/125/EC sets minimum requirements for energy-related products in order to achieve the EU’s climate targets. These requirements are implemented for motors and speed controls in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) No. 2019/1781 and for fans in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) No. 327/2011. Compliance with the efficiency requirements is, in addition to other product-specific requirements, a prerequisite for use of the CE mark. The commission regulation for motors does not affect external rotor motors as a fully-integrated drive for fans.
The majority of ZIEHL-ABEGG fans exceed the requirements of the ErP in both AC and EC technology and are therefore also optimally equipped for future requirements.

EN17166 requirements (draft)
Inlet nozzles and fan housings are significant elements according to EN17166.
Due to the use of deviating, significant elements for the ZIEHL-ABEGG SE measurement setup, the exporter becomes the fan manufacturer in accordance with Regulation 327/2011 and is also responsible for ErP data taking into account EN17166.
ZIEHL-ABEGG ErP data can be used when using the conditions specified in the product information.
