With ZIEHL-ABEGG elevator technology, the challenges that often arise in projects of this kind can be resolved far more easily, quickly, and cost-effectively. Our elevator technology enables old elevators to be upgraded to high-performance, energy-efficient, and comfortable units with low tonal noise generation. Furthermore, it often only takes a few intelligent elevator drive, control technology, and machine frame retrofits in order to achieve this transformation. For this purpose, ZIEHL-ABEGG offers a broad spectrum of optimally coordinated components that are geared to the customer's specific requirements and can be flexibly applied.

The ZAtopx elevator machine is suitable for elevators with or without a machine room. Through the use of belts as suspension means, traction shaft and deflection pulley diameters can be reduced to 100 mm. This allows these elevator machines to be designed even more compactly. Thus, ZAtopx provides the perfect basis for the implementation of compact and smooth-running elevators, providing maximum functionality within limited space. The motor is suitable for a payload of up to 1.050 kg and speeds of up to 1.6 m/s.
Our ZAdisc is a gearless elevator machine for cable elevators with traction sheaves operated without machine rooms. The particularly flat design of the elevator machine in combination with the mounting of the machine on the guide rails enables optimal utilization of the elevator shaft. The exceptionally flat elevator machine is suitable for payloads of up to 1.125 kg and supports traveling speeds of up to 2.5 m/s. The elevator machine is available with a traction sheave diameter of 400 mm or 480 mm and is suitable for upgrading existing lifts as well as for new units.
For traction sheave cable elevators (with or without a machine room), we've developed the ZAsyn permanent magnet excited gearless elevator machine. The elevator machine sets itself apart with a flat design and the option of mounting the elevator machine on the wall of the elevator shaft to permit optimal shaft utilization. The ZAsyn drives, which are designed for payloads of up to 2.500 kg and travel speeds of up to 3.0 m/s, also offer high energy efficiency and low-noise operation - just like other elevator machines from ZIEHL-ABEGG.
In addition to gearless elevator machines, ZIEHL-ABEGG also offers various drive systems with gearboxes, which are especially suited for the use of traction sheaves with large diameters. The drive systems are designed for payloads of 400 to 3.000 kg and traveling speeds of up to 2.5 m/s, with a maximum traction sheave diameter of 800 mm.
The ZAtop, ZAtopx, ZAdisc and ZAsyn series are each equipped with a type-tested brake which, as an element of the safety guard, protects against both overspeed during upward motion and unintentional movement of the elevator cabin. Such a type-tested safety brake is optionally available for the drive systems with gear unit. For safety reasons, however, we recommend that elevator systems should not be operated without such a protective device.
In addition to elevator machines and motors, ZIEHL-ABEGG also offers reliable, optimally coordinated control technology. This includes the ZAdyn4C frequency inverter, which was developed exclusively for elevator technology. The ZAdyn4C sets itself apart with an exceptionally compact design that allows it to be installed in the control cabinet as well as on the wall of the machine room or in the elevator shaft.
For even greater performance with minimal space requirements, we have developed the ZAdynpro frequency inverter. It controls both synchronous and asynchronous motors with an output range of 4.6 kW to 37.0 kW, providing high performance with minimal requirements on space.
For lasting improvements to energy efficiency and sustainability in elevator systems, we developed the ZArec4C power recuperation unit. This salvages energy generated during travel and feeds it back into the power supply.
The EVAC 3C evacuation unit monitors the supply network and isolates the frequency inverter from the supply network in the event of a complete or partial failure. Simultaneously, an automatic notification is sent to the elevator control system, and the supply voltage of the battery is switched on after a short time lag. This enables the elevator to complete a load-independent trip at a reduced speed in emergency mode, thereby preventing confinement of passengers in the car.
With ZAlift we offer you an optimal tool for reliably calculating your elevator machine requirements for your elevator. ZAlift also offers you additional planning support features for installation, operation, and acceptance.
For easy technical monitoring of your elevator system, we also offer various system components, in addition to user-friendly ZAmon diagnostic software in desktop and app versions. With ZAmon Desktop you can quickly identify and classify vulnerabilities and issues, and have easy access to all of the parameters and functions of ZIEHL-ABEGG's frequency inverter and power recuperation unit. ZAmon Mobile is the optimal tool for servicing the ZAdyn frequency inverter, offering a self-explanatory interface with icons and information on every parameter in addition to online help.
