The primary purpose of packaging is to protect the corresponding product on its way from the manufacturer to the consumer against damage, contamination, and other environmental influences such as heat, cold, or moisture. Film packaging has proven to be particularly flexible and versatile, economical, and space-saving for many products. They require less storage and transport space than, for example, cardboard boxes, which are therefore particularly resource-saving and can be adapted very flexibly to different requirements through the use of film qualities matched to the goods to be packaged.
As a rule, packaging machines take over the filming of goods, just as other packaging services such as cartoning, palletising and strapping are increasingly being automated. Fans are also often indispensable for sterilisation, filling, insulation, or similar upstream process steps to ensure the required climatic conditions
More and more companies are using semi-automatic or automatic packaging machines for cost and quality reasons.
