EVAC - Evacuation unit
The devices in the EVAC 3 model range are developed especially for elevator technology. Their compact construction and sophisticated design make the modules ideally suited to installation in control cabinets (EVAC 3B) or mounting on a wall (EVAC 3C). EVAC 3 units can be used with both synchronous and asynchronous motors, with availability for evacuations lasting up to 60 minutes and a limited number of rides. Both evacuation units need a battery set to supply voltage to the frequency inverter and other components. The voltage required and the capacity of the battery set are determined by the motor’s technical specifications and the length/number of evacuation trips.
Properties and special features:
The EVAC 3C evacuation unit monitors the elevator system supply network. If one or more supply phases fail, the frequency inverter is disconnected from the supply network. At the same time, the elevator control system is informed about the mains failure. The battery power supply is then connected with a time delay.
The EVAC 3C evacuation unit switches the frequency inverter to emergency mode and the elevator is able to perform one run in either direction at reduced speed.
This avoids the need for lengthy, complicated rescue operations by external personnel
to free trapped persons.
