The results of numerous developments for a wide range of applications across all our business areas are built on a strong foundation of highly qualified expertise and the many years of technological experience of our more than 300 engineers and technicians. At our InVent development centre at our headquarters in Künzelsau, we research and develop concepts to advance energy-efficient technologies. ZIEHL-ABEGG is one of the pioneers in external rotor motors and was among the first to use full die-cast rotors. We developed the first fans with integrated high-efficiency motors (ECblue). ZIEHL-ABEGG is advancing the development of gearless elevator drives and has developed bionic fan designs. We have created aerodynamic solutions using modern high-performance materials in combination with state-of-the-art ECblue technology.

For many years, bionic analogies have informed the rapid development of new technologies. This involves specifically searching for structures in nature that could serve as valuable models for technical applications. Insights from bionics allow us to draw ideas from nature for resource-efficient innovations. In this process, we uncover nature’s principles and use them as inspiration for developing new technological solutions. Our extensive research and development activities, together with excellent conditions, enable ZIEHL-ABEGG to respond to market requirements at an early stage.
