Drive systems with gearboxes

Millions of people all over the world ride in elevators, day in, day out. They ride quickly, safely and comfortably up to their offices, apartments or hotel rooms. Many elevator manufacturers put their trust in the decisive contribution that ZIEHL-ABEGG makes to reliability and travel comfort. The elevator machine and control technology are the “heart” and “soul” of the elevator. One of the reasons for this trust is ZIEHL-ABEGG's ability to adapt the motor and control engineering to the manufacturer's specific requirements no matter how far up or down the elevator is to travel and how much space is available. The drive systems with gearboxes from ZIEHL-ABEGG are optimised for simple installation and, as such, are perfectly suited for modernisation work and new builds.

For safety reasons, we recommend always using a protective device for the upward-moving elevator car to prevent overspeeding. Without a corresponding protective device pursuant to EN 81-1 Section 9.10 or EN 81-20 Section 5.6.6, this could lead to an uncontrolled upward movement of the elevator. Use of this elevator machine without a suitable protective device is at the operator’s own risk.
